Project Details
Our team of 3 was given a 3 month timeline to wireframe, design, build and launch the Parks and Rec website. Which was originally it’s own standalone web application which was such a hit, that we decided to fully integrate it with the main Labatt USA site in year 2.
The project began with a series of meetings where we were briefed on the project and we had some brainstorming sessions with an original goal to fund 15 separate teams across Buffalo and Detroit. I started creating wireframes for the project and mocked up a design that would focus on initial sign ups, as well as creating bio pages for each team in a playing card format.
After approval of the wireframes, I began building a prototype in Figma, using Google Gemini and Midjourney to generate team logos and bios to give as close to a finished product feel instead of using placeholders. After a few rounds of revisions, the designs were approved and passed to my teammates, a Web Architect who focused on building the scaffolding of the website originally in Django as well as the carousel and card 3D animations/effects, our Web Developer built out the pages and structure to our original designs and I again helped with styling the site to a polished state that looked great across a range of screen sizes.
The project was deemed a success, delivered on time and under budget, while also becoming a popular program for the Labatt brand. For year 2, the site was expanded, built on a new framework Gatsby / React and incorporated into the main Labatt USA site.
